Second Week Results & Other Gossip
The weather was perfect for the second week of Tucson Inferno Pride softball, this time at Todd Harris fields.*
The Blazing Eagles beat the Sluggin Senoritas who came out sluggin in the first 3 innings. A good hitting inning by the Eagles resulted in a 21 – 10 win.
The Cherry Bomb Pops had a double header winning one and losing one. They lost to the Cactus Wrens 13 – 2 but were warmed up in their second game beating the Sunset Sluggers 12 – 6.
Our umpire James had to do some real work on Sunday. There was an interference call and he explains that baserunners must not impede fielders from fielding the ball. It can happen quickly, especially since the runner does not want to get hit by the ball either. If a runner is hit by a batted ball that has not been touched, they are OUT! So runners: Make sure you do not get in the way of the ball when running.
Some players went to Thirsty’s after the games and had a good time! I wonder where we all will go this Sunday, huh?
Saturday is a ratings and practice. The ratings will be geared toward the Sluggin Senoritas and the Sunset Sluggers, but anyone that shows up can get rated.
We will be doing A LOT of batting at practice!
