About TIPS

Tucson Inferno Pride Softball, founded in 2023, is very proud to have restarted LGBTQ+ & Allies softball in Tucson. We are a program of the nonprofit PASS, Inc. Our mission is to provide adults with an opportunity to play softball in a safe non-discriminatory, supportive environment. We foster self‐confidence in athletics for a population that may have experienced ridicule or discrimination while participating in sports in their youth.

In 2023, TIPS sent an Open Division team to the Saguaro Cup in Phoenix in April and a women's team in September to San Diego for the ASANA (Amateur Sports Alliance of North America) national tournament. TIPS also joined with San Francisco to compete in the Gay Games in Guadalajara in November.

In 2024, TIPS had a magnificent year. TIPS sent 3 teams to the Sin City Classic, took 2nd at the Desert Classic in Palm Springs, and took a team to the Saguaro Cup. TIPS had its first Spring and Fall leagues with 4 teams and growing. TIPS sent a team to Dublin, Ireland at first ever gay tournament (Brod Ball) in Ireland!! Our Women's Division sent two teams to the ASANA World Series in Memphis, TN. The E Team (Killer Monsoon) took 4th place and the D Team (Hot Peppers) placed in the middle of 29 teams with record of 3W-4L-1T.

TIPS successfully petitioned and joined International Pride Softball (iPride Softball) and now have achieved the original intent of our league belonging to ASANA and iPride national softball organizations.

Up next for TIPS in 2025:

In 2026, we plan to send a team to the Gay Games in Valencia, Spain (Jun 27-Jul 4) and to the 2026 iPride GSWS in Columbus and the ASANA tournament will be right here in Tucson!!!!
